I walked up to a friend one day, curious. With that curiosity, I asked her:
"How long will my love with him last?"
My friend simply laughed.
"Go ask Money, sweetheart. How long it last will depend on how much of it you have."

I walked up to Money, as doubtful as I was about my friend's advice, and asked it:
"How long will my love with him last?"
Money gazed at me with a puzzled look, scratching its head in utter confusion.
"You can't ask me, because I can't buy love. Go ask Happiness, she'll have the answer."

I walked up to Happiness, glad as ever to see her, and asked:
"How long will my love with him last?"
Happiness only smiled and shook her head, patting my head gently.
"I don't plan out your life, I only feel with you. Ask Destiny and you'll have the answer."

I walked up to Destiny, confident that he knew the answer, and asked him:
"How long will my love with him last?"
Destiny gave a small chuckle and shrugged.
"I don't know all the answers, no matter what you might hear. Only Time will tell."

I walked up to Time, growing further impatient the more people I asked:
"How long will my love with him last?"
Time looked shocked; he shook his head with a smile and shook a scolding finger at me.
"My dear, they say only Time can tell, but let me ask you this, now..."
I nodded and listened intently, as Time proceeded to ask:
"How, child, do you love him?"

I sat there for an hour to think about it, and all the while Time waited patiently for me to give him result.
"There are so many words out there to describe my love for him," I said finally.
Time nodded, smiling endlessly.
"But," I added, "there are not enough to tell him how much I love him. I need more words, more languages, more definitions to explain to him my endless stretch of love for him."

Time clapped his hands with a grin and looked me closely in the eye, and said:
"That, my dear, assures me of my answer to you now."
I gave another nod, eager to know the answer I'd been seeking for quite a while.
"'Time only tells,' they say," Time told me. "That much is indeed true. But there is only one person who can answer that question and truly know for sure."

Confused, I tilted my head and asked:
"Who would that be? I don't quite understand... Aren't you supposed to know it all?"
Time's smile never faltered, even as he placed his hands on my shoulders and said:
"You are to ask yourself and the man you speak of."

A tiny frown came to my face as I heard this.
"That's two people, though. You said I needed to ask one."
Time laughed now, very heartily, and waved a hand at me gently.
"My, my, so young you are! You see, child, that is one person; from what you tell me, of how much you adore this man, both of you become as one, to share that love and your lives."

Finally it all made sense to me, and I smiled again, saying:
"I understand now, thank you."
Time waved me off as I bid him farewells.
Then I ran off to find the man I love.

I walked up to Love, feeling my spirits lift as I asked him:
"How long does our love last?"
Love blinked at me before smiling and pulling me close.
"Forever."

From miles and miles away, Time could be heard laughing contently.
